Obituary

Yolanda Walden Wright , affectionately known by her Hebrew name, "Yahlahyah", 46, of Fredericksburg, VA, gained her wings on June 10, 2022, after suffering from complications of a stroke.

On August 7, 1975, Yolanda was born in Washington, D.C. Yolanda attended several public schools within the DMV area. In 1993, she graduated from Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg VA. She furthered her education and attended Germanna Community College. Yolanda also obtained her Associates of Arts degree within Human Services Management from University of Phoenix. She pursued and received her CNA, medical assistant, and LPN licenses from Career Training Solutions.

Yolanda was a faithful servant of the lord (YAH). She was a member of Trumpet Sounding Ministries, in Beltsville, MD. She looked forward to service every Saturday "Lord's willing" as she would say. Yolanda was all about her family and would lend a helping hand to anyone. She was easygoing and a wonderful mother. Yolanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, William Walden, Sr., and Estella Coleman-Walden; her brother, William Walden, Jr.; her father-in-law, Clarence Melvin Wright; all of them whom she loved dearly and now reunited with in heaven.

Yolanda leaves a loving legacy to her soulmate and husband of 27 years, Melvin D. Wright; three devoted children, Brionna Hunter (Kurtwan), Tywan Wright (girlfriend, Ashley), and Shymarr Wright, all of Fredericksburg, VA; two adored grandchildren, her princess, Kei'Aree Anise Hunter, and her prince, Elijah Cymier Wright; her loving uncle and aunt, Jerry and Shirley Hamilton of Maryland; her mother-in-law, Janet L. Parker of Caroline County, VA; sister-in-law, Sherry Wright of Caroline County, VA; three nieces, Jahlani Khyree Coleman, Shikyra Coleman and Nae-Nae Coakley-Carroll (Deshawn); five nephews, William Na'schon Walden, Shaqkel Wright, JaShaun Coleman, DeeJay Banks, and Delontae Banks; a dedicated and best friend that was like a sister, Lashawn Dabney (Jonanthan) of Woodbridge, Virginia; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
