Viola
Coleman
d. Mar 31, 2025
Viola Virginia Coleman "Tootie" was born in Spotsylvania, Virginia on October 31, 1937, to the late Edward and Edith Johnson. Tootie, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2025.
Tootie was educated by the public school system and attended John J. Wright High School. Shortly afterward she began her passionate career at Hot Shoppes as a talented cook. She retired after 30 years of service and continued to do what brought her joy as the lead cook at Courthouse Cafe for 26 years until her health started to fail. Our beloved Tootie was a real one. She would tell you like it was and whether you liked it or not, you respected her. Tootie was known for her good home cooking, spunky personality and always being there for her family. She loved watching Let's Make a Deal, Jeopardy, The Price is Right and of course her trips to Atlantic City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie L. Coleman, daughter, Shelbra Coleman and sister, Dorothy Johnson.
She leaves behind a wonderful family to cherish her memories, one devoted son, Willie Coleman, Sr.; two daughters, Cheryl Kay (Calvin) and Edith Coleman; one brother, James Johnson; four loving grandchildren, Angela Coleman, Willie Coleman Jr., Jiuhur Myers and Calvin Kay, Jr.; five beautiful great grandchildren, Jaylen Coleman, Justin Parker, Jakaila Dorsey, Camila Coleman and Michael Coleman.
