Obituary

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, while resting peacefully, God called home a virtuous woman, one of integrity, guided by wisdom, strength, and compassion, and anchored by a deep reverence for the Lord. He gently whispered, "Vendetta "Tune" Kenney Pratt, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith, and now it is time to receive your heavenly crown."

Vendetta was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Aubrey Macon Kenney, Sr. and the late Mary Alice Kenney. She attended Fredericksburg Public Schools and graduated from James Monroe High School. After graduation, she pursued her vocational training at the Fredericksburg Area School of Practical Nursing, earning her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She dedicated more than 40 years of service at Mary Washington Hospital before continuing her career at Sentara Hospital in Dale City, where she later retired. Guided by her passion for caring for others, she returned to work as the school nurse at Walker-Grant Middle School, where she was employed at the time of her passing."

Vendetta loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site). She later moved her membership to Third Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she cherished and loved her church family and once served as President of the Pastor's Aid Club. Even when she was unable to attend services in person, she remained devoted by worshiping through the church's live stream from her bedside.

Affectionately known as 'Tune' by family and friends, she was a loving and caring person to everyone she encountered. Her warm, courageous smile and willingness to help others whether a lifelong friend or someone she had just met left a lasting impression. During football season, you could always find her cheering for the Washington Football Team even seasons when they held the worst record in the National Football League (NFL), they remained her favorite team, as she never gave up on them. That same steadfast loyalty reflected the way she lived her life and what she believed in.

Tune is preceded in death by her mother Mary Alice Kenney, her brother Aubrey Macon Kenney, Jr., one uncle Robert Berkley, four aunts Doris "Cheetie" Berkeley, Nannie Brown, Shirley Jackson and Frances Woolfolk, and one great-aunt Mary Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory and carry forward her everlasting love: her daughter, Shiron Pratt-Elliott, her sister-in-law Belinda Kenney, one niece Phoebe (Shan) Kenney-Shghal; one nephew Aubrey Kenney III, two great-nieces Savannah and Lauren Kenney, and goddaughter, Makaiyla Baker. Along with those who lovingly called her 'Grandma' Robert Brown, Tameka and Shaneequa Christopher, Denise and Floyd Dewitt, Floyrissa, Floyd and Lloyd Elliott, Briel Lassister and Quanesha "Ms. Morton" Samuel, two great-grandchildren, Ahmir Elliott and Royal

Dewitt Her bonus daughters; Betteen Morton, Tasia (Mona) Parker, and Felicia Williams and bonus son Tracey (Melvonda) Baker. A host of family and friends.
