Tyrone
Ellis
d. Apr 14, 2022
Tyrone Ellis , 60, of Orange, VA was born on December 18, 1961, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Inez Ellis. He entered eternal rest on April 14, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital. Tyrone was baptized and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church several years ago.
Tyrone was educated in the Orange County School System. He was employee at Dogwood Village Nursing Home, where he was loved by many. He dedicated many years to coaching his boys in Eastern Orange Little Legion Basketball and football with the Stingers. Tyrone never missed one of his children sports events. He would travel from county to county, and trust me you would know he was there, you could hear him over everyone else yelling and screaming for his children.
In 1999, Tyrone married Doris Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Ellis; his paternal grandparents, John and Nettie Ellis; one sister, Denise Ellis; and a loving cousin, Joan Thompson.
He leaves to cherish his memory to five children, Jerome Carter (Danielle) of Fredericksburg, VA, Tyrone B. Ellis (Chameel) of Richmond, VA, Shavonn Ellis (Simone) of Orange, VA, Shanique Herndon (Zachary) of Locust Grove, VA, and Daron Johnson of Locust Grove, VA; one sister, Annette Ellis (David); four brothers, Michael Ellis of Philadephia, PA, Steve Ellis (Monica) of San Antonio, TX, Paul Ellis (Hattie) of Rhoadesville, VA, and Larry Ellis (Tammy) of Stafford, VA; his mother-in-law, Brenda Tyler; father-in-law, Clayton Tyler; three brothers-in-law, Nick Tyler, Clayton Tyler, and Robert Johnson; one sister-in-law, Carletta Johnson; his grandchildren, Akeelah Carter, Alona Carter, Ava Carter, Mikylah Highley, Triston Ellis and one on the way, Arrington; a very special lady who looked at Tyrone as her son, Mrs. Augusta Gentry; three kids he helped raise, Amekia Carter, Corey Ramiez, and Tyesal Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A viewing will be held on at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Locust Grove, VA, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. The interment will be held at Mount Sinai Solid Rock Church of Christ of Apostolic Faith Cemetery in Rhoadesville, VA.
