Timothy
Jones
d. Apr 20, 2026
Timothy K. Jones, affectionately known as "Timmy," was born in Caroline County to Margaret E. Jones and the late Willie R. Jones.
He accepted Christ at an early age at First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Sparta, Virginia. He was educated in the Caroline County Public School system. Timmy was a dedicated and hardworking man who was employed with C.C. Becks in Fredericksburg and later with Russell Stover in Carmel Church, where he was known for his strong work ethic and remained a loyal and dedicated employee until both businesses closed. He continued to stay active in his work and was most recently employed with Mike Bullock Construction Inc., where he carried that same strong work ethic.
He was united in holy matrimony to Virginia Mae Brown. Together they shared 33 loving years, including 26 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, stepfather, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend.
Timmy found joy in simple moments, especially when surrounded by those he loved. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends, throwing horseshoes, and cooking on the grill for family. He also loved listening to music, dancing, and relaxing on his deck—where love, laughter, and good times were always around. Timmy and Virginia were even known as cornhole champions, sharing in friendly competition. If you saw one, you saw the other, and they truly enjoyed living life side by side, always making the most of every moment together.
He was preceded in death by his father, the late Willie R. Jones; his father-in-law, the late Walter Brown Jr.; his beloved grandparents, the late John and Gladys Jones, the late Odell Thomas, and the late Estlene Taylor; and other loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Virginia Mae Jones; his children, Timothy Johnson Jr., Latesha Banks, and Kenneth Johnson; his stepchildren, Wanda Harris (Damion) and Allen Brown.
He is also survived by his mother, Margaret E. Jones; his brothers, Steven Jones and Mark Nelson; his sisters, Linda Fahey (John), Sharon A. Jones, Karen Rocke (Joseph), Gladys Foster, and Darlene Jones; his stepmother, Mary Jones; his aunt, Alice Ross; and his mother-in-law, Joyce Brown.
He also leaves behind four sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Toogood (Derrick), Joyce Crutchfield (Ronnie), Angela Brown (Clinton), and Ronita Gaines (Floyd); and four brothers-in-law, John Fahey (Linda), James Brown, Charles Brown (Bridget), and Joseph Rocke.
He was blessed with a loving legacy of grandchildren: Iesha Dillon, Dayzsa Johnson, Timothy Johnson Jr., James Banks Jr., Jasmine Banks, Kayvon Brown, Jeremiah Brown, Aaliyah Monroe, and Atlanta Ellis; and great-grandchildren: Naleia Johnson, Travon Lee II, Nolan Dillon, Brayden Banks, and Kamryn Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
