Theodore Jackson,
Sr.
d. Feb 11, 2026
Theodore Roosevelt Jackson, Sr. , born November 22, 1947, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong member of Sylvannah Baptist Church and a graduate of John J. Wright Consolidated School, he lived by the values of faith, hard work, and service.
In 1976, he married the love of his life, Denise Griffin, and together they built a strong, devoted partnership of nearly 50 years. They were blessed with two children, Theodore "TJ" Jackson Jr. and Jennifer Jackson.
Known affectionately as "Thedo", "Teddy", "Jack", or "Skeet". Theodore was a dedicated provider with a remarkable work ethic. He worked at General Products and WMATA before retiring from Giant Construction. Even after retirement, he remained active, serving in maintenance and groundskeeping roles at RAASAP and the Fredericksburg Police Academy. He was known for his steady presence, warm smile, and pride in both his work and his home.
Theodore enjoyed family gatherings, card games, bowling, fishing, hunting, working on cars, watching westerns and car auctions, listening to country and blues music, and cheering for his favorite Washington teams. An old-fashioned gentleman with a quick wit, he will be remembered for his love of family, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Denise; his children; his grandchildren; his siblings; and a host of extended family members and friends who will continue to honor his legacy.
A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. The interment will be held privately.
