Shamia
Robinson
d. Jan 24, 2023
Shamia Saree Robinson affectionately known as "Smookie" was called home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2023.
Shamia was born on December 17, 1998, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA, to her loving parents Rasheem Robinson and Jasmine Wilkins. Shamia grew up in Fredericksburg, VA, and Maryland. She attended Benjamin Tasker Middle School, and her friends pinned her as "most likable". Shamia graduated from Duval High School with honors in culinary arts in Lanham, Maryland in May 2018.
After graduation she attended Chambers Academy with aspirations of becoming a phlebotomist. She later attended Global University of Maryland online campus for psychology. She was excited about her career as an Environmental Service Tech at Calvert Health Medical Center.
Shamia was a true lover of Christ Jesus. She talked about God all the time with her mother and never hesitated to pray. She was baptized as a young teenager and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her favorite gospel song was "Encourage Yourself".
As a young child she had a passion for being around her family. She enjoyed going to the beach and was highly creative, and artistic. She was very athletic and used her speed to excel in both soccer, and track. Shamia's big bright beautiful eyes along with her smile always lit up the room. She cheered up everyone she encountered. Shamia was a kind, and caring person with a huge heart. She never met a person that she did not want to help. She was a firm believer in showing love, kindness, and compassion. She was full of life and a ray of sunshine to all.
Shamia was a fashionista who never stepped out of the house without having her eyelashes popping. She loved rocking different color hairstyles and outfits that she could buy from Walmart, Shein, or fashion-nova and make them look like they were created for a runway model. She loved music, dancing, and creating content on TikTok. Her favorite color was blue and she loved butterflies. Her favorite food was her dad's chicken bruschetta, and she loved her mom's famous fried chicken, and homemade cheesecake. One of her favorite things to do was having spa days with her mother. Shamia shared a special relationship with each of her siblings. She was loved beyond measure.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Tony Carter.
All will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her father, Rasheem Robinson; her mother, Jasmine Wilkins (John); her siblings, Jashaun Robinson, Devany Robinson, Jalen Lyles, John Wilkins, Jr. (JD), Jacob Wilkins, Jewel Wilkins, and Makayla Jones; paternal grandparents, Teena Shelton, and Larry Shelton; maternal grandparents, Milton Jones, and Valerie Braxton (Roger); aunts, Tameika Robinson, Tihisha Howard (Jerahmi), and Christian Brown (Nevin); uncles, Marco Jones (Amy), Linell Shelton, and Aaron Carter; cousins, Darius, Nathaniel, Lauren, Aaliyah, Ebony, Dominique (DJ), Charity, Isiaac, Seth, Zykel, Larry, Devine, and Nachell; her devoted friend, Miyah Frost; and a host of other relatives.
