Scott Anthony Carpenter , 44, of Stafford, VA, departed this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Stafford Hospital after a long battle with kidney disease.

Scott was born on May 26, 1981, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA, to the late Betty Jean Carpenter. He is the first of her children to join her in heaven. Scott is a native of Stafford, VA, where he graduated from North Stafford High School. Although Scott never married or had any children, he was a loving uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.

Scott was proceeded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Carpenter who departed her life on June 18, 1992, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was also proceeded in death by his nephew Jayden Bryce Carpenter who passed away on April 16, 2016.

Scott leaves behind three siblings, Majia Carpenter of Stafford, VA,  Derrick Jay Carpenter of Spotsylvania, VA, and Joseph Rynell Childs of Spotsylvania, VA; and a host of other relatives.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA, 22408, on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will be held privately.
