Ruby
Carter
d. Oct 5, 2024
Ruby Lee Carter peacefully transitioned on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Spotsylvania, VA. She was born on December 20, 1950, to the late Clarence Carter and Betty Lou Carter.
Ruby grew up in Spotsylvania, VA along with her six sisters and one brother. She attended John. J. Wright School. Ruby loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. Ruby enjoyed attending church at First New Hope Baptist Church in Partlow, VA.
Ruby worked for Sheraton Inn in Fredericksburg, VA for thirty-one years. After working several years in hospitality, Ruby continued her career as a caregiver. Ruby was able to share her loving, caring, and compassionate personality with everyone she met while working as a caregiver.
Ruby was quiet, and she especially loved spending time with her family. Family was everything to her. Ruby had a contagious laugh and a smile that was infectious. Although her health began to fail, she was strong and resilient. She would frequently say, "God got me, and I am alright". Ruby clung to her faith until God called her home. She will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Betty Carter, sisters, Geraldine Carter, Linda L. Carter, and Barbara Carter.
Ruby leaves a loving legacy to her children, Randy L. Carter, Rodney Carter (Ramonda), Russell Lewis, Pamela Carter (Rufus Robinson), and Ross D. Carter; her sisters, Frances L. Carter, Dianne Carter, Carole Carter; her brother, Michael Carter; eight adored grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; a devoted friend, Mickey Beanum; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ruby loved all her nieces, and nephews, but she was like a mother to Renada Green, and Diandrea Carter. She especially went out of her way to express her love for her great great nephews, Jayshawn, Jaycian, and Jaylonn.
