Obituary

Roberta Gail Green was born on November 12, 1954 in Essex County, Virginia, to the late Melvin  Saunders and Beatrice Epps.  She transitioned to her Father's house on Friday, September 4, 2026 from the loving home of her Aunt Ethel and Uncle Wendell Parker of Spotsylvania, Virginia.

In her youth, Gail was educated through the Spotsylvania County Public School system, and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of the late Reverend Russell Robinson of Second New Hope Baptist Church in Summit, Virginia.  Later, Gail moved her membership to Macedonia Baptist Church, in Woodford, Virginia.  She retired from the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia after many years of employment.

Gail was a loving person and her aunt Ethel's private chauffeur and chef.  They took road trips to South Carolina every year, and spoke on the phone five to six times a day.  Sadly, Gail's passing leaves her aunt with no one to vent to.

Gail loved her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed playing bid-whist and watching the Baltimore Ravens football team.

Besides her parents and her brother James Epps, Gail was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ronald Daniel Green, to whom she was married for seventeen years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Melody Golden Ball of Silver Springs, Maryland, Juan Lucas, Sr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Rho Lucas of Felton, Delaware; her grandchildren Natayah (Adrewn) Joseph of Jacksonville, Florida, Inda Johnson, of Austin, Texas, Juan Jr., Kianna, and Navaya Lucas all of Delaware, Reginae, and Amahd Lucas, of Felton, Delaware; two great-grandchildren Devyn Jackson and Marty Wilson of Austin, Texas; her brothers Thomas Epps of Amelia, Virginia, Kelly Epps, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, and Robert Epps of Caret, Virginia; her aunts Pearl Johnson of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ethel (Wendell) Parker of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Reverend Gladys Ball of Elgin, South Carolina.  In addition to being mourned by her family and friends, Gail will be missed by her best friend of sixty-five years, Teena Lewis Shelton of Spotsylvania, Virginia.
