Obituary

Robert Preston Dunn, Sr. entered this world on February 21, 1954, in Trenton, New Jersey, to the late, Jesse Dunn Sr. and Pearlie M. Williams. He was the fifth oldest child of ten children. Robert continued to live in Trenton, New Jersey, where he became a proud graduate of Trenton Central High School. Shortly after, he embarked upon an honorable 26-year career in the United States Air Force. His service took him across the globe to Korea and a memorable assignment in Homestead, Florida where he met the love of his life, Faye (McGinitis) Dunn. Together, they built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and faith.

In 1988, after completing his assignment in Homestead, Robert was stationed in Washington, DC. As a man of deep faith, Robert and Faye became active members of the Church of Jesus Christ (COJC) where he proudly sang with the male chorus, sharing his love for music and community.

Robert had a passion for basketball, often attending basketball games with his son. He found joy in tending to his yard, taking pride in maintaining a beautiful and welcoming home. A self-proclaimed interior decorator, he took pleasure in many small home renovations around the house. Additionally, Robert was an avid moviegoer, relishing the experience of watching films and often turning them into memorable moments with his family.

In 1993, Robert moved his family to Woodbridge, Virginia - where he would eventually call home. Robert was a man of integrity, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He was a role model to many, imparting wisdom, humor, and love in all he did.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Dunn Jr., grandparents, Tarlven & Wealthy Williams, and Jesse Clark & Ida Dunn.

He leaves behind a legacy of love cherished by his wife of 43 years, Wanda Faye Dunn; his children Bobby Dunn, Melissa Douglas (Marc), Shawana Fladger (Jamal), Tiffeny Boone (Richard), and Robert Preston Dunn, Jr. (Sofia); sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two godchildren; five brothers, John of Abilene, TX, Richard of Tampa, FL, Matthew, Ronald and Donald of Trenton, NJ; three sisters, Christine and Denise of Trenton, NJ, Evette Kendall of Robbinsville, NJ., and step-father Jessie Brown. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who were blessed to know him.

Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as a testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved.

Rest in eternal peace, Robert. Your love and legacy will never be forgotten.
