Reginald
Brown
d. Apr 22, 2024
Reginald Lee Brown departed this life on Monday April 22, 2024, in Fredericksburg, VA, surrounded by family and friends.
Reggie was born on August 24, 1956, to the late William Thomas Brown, Sr., and Viola Taylor-Brown. He attended the former John J. Wright High School in Spotsylvania, VA, and accepted Christ at an early age at Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, VA.
Reggie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. Reggie was a gentle and humble man with a kind and loving spirit and a smile that lit up a room. His main joy and pride in his life was spending time with his family. He loved playing cards, specifically Bid Whist and Poker. He was up for a card game every night of the week. He was affectionately known as "Downtown Brown" when playing Bid Whist. Reggie also had a love for clean cars, shiny shoes, and could throw on some rags. When Reggie was not working (detailing cars), he was under the hood of one. To know Reggie was to truly love him. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Brown, Sr.; mother, Viola Taylor-Brown; brother, William Thomas Brown Jr; long-time partner, Beverly Fitzhugh; and niece, Evette Brown.
Reggie is survived by his children, Cindy Johnson, Reginald Lee Ellis; Darnisha Ellis, and Rayequon Spencer; three loving sisters, Rosetta Baker, Barbara Brown, and Donna "Faye" Nelson (Ray); three brothers, Joseph Brown (Rita), James "Jimmy" Brown, and David "Love" Brown; three grandchildren, Jaymin Cartier Ellis, Amare Roscoe Johnson, and Braedyn Roscoe Johnson; a very special friend, and also the mother of his children, Regina Ellis; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of other relatives, and long-time friends.
A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
