Princina
Muhammad
d. May 16, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved Princina Muhammad , who departed this life on May 16, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on January 7, 1948, in Conway, South Carolina, Princina was raised in a close-knit community that instilled in her the values of strength, perseverance, and love for family. She attended Finklea High School in Finklea, South Carolina, graduating in 1967—a milestone that marked the beginning of a life filled with determination and purpose.
With a vision for a better future, Princina courageously moved north, first to Trenton, New Jersey, and later to Richmond, Virginia, where she worked tirelessly to build a life for herself and her children. Her journey was one of resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to those she loved. She was a woman who did not shy away from hard work and always found a way to make things happen.
In 1986, Princina embraced her spiritual calling and joined the Nation of Islam, where she faithfully served until her passing. Through her devotion, she built meaningful relationships and gained a large extended family of sisters, brothers, and lifelong friends who loved and respected her deeply. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and a source of strength that carried her through every season.
Princina was known for her vibrant personality and her competitive spirit—she truly was competitive in everything she did. Whether it was a game of basketball, a workout, or any friendly challenge, she gave it her all and inspired those around her to do the same. She also found joy in sewing, canning, and creating with her hands, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her home and her presence were places of warmth, laughter, and love.
She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Thomas Edwards.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Monica, Cordell, and Samantha (Leo), who were the pride and joy of her life. She was also a proud grandmother to Natasha, Quran, Jasmine, Michael and Jalik (deceased) each of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
Princina is also survived by her very loving sister, Annette Muhammad, who many said looked just like her twin. Their bond was extraordinary—filled with deep love, shared memories, and a connection that words can hardly capture.
She will be remembered as an amazing mother, devoted wife, loving grandmother, caring sister, cherished aunt, and loyal friend. Her strength, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched countless lives and will continue to live on through all who knew her.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of faith, resilience, and unconditional love will never fade. Her spirit lives on in every life she touched, every lesson she taught, and every moment of love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished.
