Pearlean Barnett Cook entered eternal rest on March 7, 2026, at Mary Washington Hospital, at the age of 85. Pearlean B. Cook was born on May 20, 1940, to the late Rayfield and Geneva B. Barnett.
She attended Stafford County Public Schools. At an early age she worked for many years at Mary Washington College. Pearlean was employed at McLane, formerly known as Southland, where after multiple years of dedication and hard work she retired. Pearlean took great pride in the work she did and didn't play about being on time.
Pearlean's life was deeply rooted in her faith. She had a sincere love for God and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a devoted member of Union Bell Baptist Church. Over the years, she held several positions within the church, including President of the Pastor's Aide, a member of the Ever Ready Choir, and a dedicated member of the Usher Board. Pearlean found great joy in serving the Lord and her church family. In her spare time, she volunteered with the Citizen Assistance Program for Stafford County, where she worked the polls during elections.
Pearlean was preceded in death by the love of her life Norman Cook, her parents, Rayfield and Geneva Barnett, Mother-in-law Mary Cook, her brothers Curtis Barnett and Raymond Barnett, her son Duane Wilson, and bonus daughter Marlo Brown-Carpenter.
Pearlean is survived by her children, Wilbert Barnett, Ronnie Barnett (Betty), Marsha Hawkins-Tyler (Nick), Harvey Lee Wilson, Jr., Mary Wilson (Jesse), and a bonus son, Harvey Moody; her sister-in-law, Edith Washington; three aunts, Williamae White, Lorraine Alsop, and Estelle Strother; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
