Nannie Mae Smith peacefully departed this life on February 22, 2023. Nannie was known to many as "Plug". She was born to the late, Godfrey L. Dorsey and Marjorie L. Green on July 14, 1958.

Nannie was educated in the Fredericksburg City Public School system. Throughout Nannie's career she held various positions within the medical field. Nannie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Nannie's vibrant personality could be felt whenever you were in her presence. Nannie was very straightforward and always spoke her mind. Nannie had an lasting impression on us all and will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Irene Green, Eunice Thomas, Mary Dorsey, Wesley Noel, and Ronald Dorsey; granddaughter, Nia Simone Allen; one great granddaughter, Aniyah Simone Green.

Nannie leaves a loving legacy to her children, LaTeasha R. Green (Troy), Makeasha L. Johnson, Anthony J. Green, and Makenzie L. Green; her sister, Denise Green-Allen; brothers, Wayne M. Noel, and Lester C. Green; her significant other, James Lee Wilson; five grandsons, Corey "Doudis" Green, Anthony A. Green, Andre R. Green, Anthony J. Green II, and Isaiah C. Green; two great granddaughters, Malayah Mae Green, and LaeLani Alexis Green; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will be held privately.
