Mildred Octavia Lewis , 70, of Spotsylvania, VA, was born on January 17, 1954. She departed this life on September 17, 2024.

Mildred graduated from Spotsylvania Senior High School in 1972. She continued her education at Virginia State College. In 1976, Mildred graduated from Virginia State College.

After college she enlisted in the United States Army. Throughout her military career she received multiple commendations and awards. She was honorably discharged, with the rank of Captain.

As she has ascended to her heavenly home, she leaves to mourn her siblings, Sandra  Wright, Camille Johnson (Rufus), Frederick Lewis, and Leon Lewis, Jr. (Vanessa); several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA, on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM. The interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:30 AM.
