Obituary

Mildred Lee Haithcock was born January 21, 1941, in Greenwood, MS to the late Bessie (Ferguson) Johnson and Peter Johnson.  Mildred was one of four and the last remaining child; and considered the matriarch of the family for nearly three decades after the passing of her parents and older siblings.  Early in life she married her soul mate, the late Robert Thomas Haithcock Sr., and stayed by his side for 49 years until his passing in 2010.

Mildred's life was one of willing sacrifice!  She dedicated her life to serving and supporting those around her; especially her family.  She traveled extensively supporting her husband over the course of a decorated 27-year military career; including traveling to and being stationed in overseas locations such as Belgium and Germany; as well as numerous stateside locations.  A full career of her own was difficult; but Mildred found even more opportunities to serve working in military-affiliated organizations.  The Army Air Force Exchange Service or AAFES being her go-to organization.

Called to rest on August 26, 2026, Mildred leaves to cherish her memories her son, Robert Thomas Haithcock, Jr. (Pamela) of Manassas, Virginia; her daughter, Denise Louise Luttrell (Howard) of Woodbridge, Virginia; nine grandchildren: Erica, Kwesiana, Joya, Michael, Tyler, Howard, Isaiah, Imani and Joseph; nine great grandchildren, surrogate grandchildren, family and friends. Preceding her in death is her parents; her siblings; her husband Robert Haithcock, Sr.; three children, Tony (Terri), Roger and Jacqueline; and her granddaughter whom she raised, Natasha Haithcock.

She was passionate about two things in life; her God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her family! The only time you would ever see Mildred down about something was when she couldn't get to church or couldn't do something for her family.  All that she was and all that she had, she would willingly share with someone else.  Her happiness was her family and friends being happy!  Truly a woman of God and a woman of love!
