Michael Dwayne Ellis answered the master's call and peacefully entered into the portals of heaven on December 20, 2021 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Michael was born on December 27, 1989 to Linda Mae Ellis and the late Preston Johnson, Jr.

Michael's kind, genuine, honest, humble, and loving spirit will be forever missed and cherished.

He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Johnson, Jr.; one brother, Christopher Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Carl Ellis and Elizabeth Ellis; his paternal grandparents, Preston Johnson, Sr. and Wille Mae Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Linda Ellis of Spotsylvania; three sisters, Carlene Ellis and Tiffany Ellis of Spotsylvania, and Janie Johnson of Orange; three brothers, Calvin Johnson and Preston Johnson, III (Dena) of Spotsylvania, and Jefferey Herndon of Orange; two very dear nephews, Tyre Ellis and Uziah Ellis; thirteen nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Due to inclement weather, the interment will be held at a later date at Branch Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
