Mary Alice Harris Bembery passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at her sister's home in Spotsylvania, Virginia.

Born on November 1, 1944, in Spotsylvania, she was the fourth of thirteen children born to the late William Henry Harris and Gertrude Ware Harris. Mary Alice was a proud graduate of John J. Wright Consolidated High School.

In 1965, she married the love of her life, Clifford M. Bembery. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage until his passing. Mary Alice was also preceded in death by her siblings, Tom Ware, William H. Harris Jr., Roy Harris, Raymond Harris, Howard Harris, Emma L. Harris, and Florence Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved siblings, Maude C. Harris, Gertrude E. Smith, Sandra M. Rick (Larry), Elmo Harris, and Wayne Harris; sisters-in-law, Rosie Harris and Delores Lancaster; cherished extended family who were like siblings, Betty Beasley Walker, Darlene Beasley Woodward, and James Beasley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mary Alice will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Her life was marked by love, devotion, and a deep sense of family, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.

A viewing and visitation will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA, 22408, on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A service in her honor will be held at Good Samaritan Baptist Church, 6148 Lansdowne Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151.
