Marian
Green
d. Feb 9, 2025
Marian Elenora Green entered this world on April 26, 1939, in Bumpass, Virginia, to the late Herbert and Elenora Moss. She was the youngest of four siblings. Marian was educated within the Spotsylvania County School System. She was a graduate of John J. Wright Consolidated School.
After graduation, Marian met and married the love of her life, James Green. The two went on to have four beautiful children. Later, they joined The Way of The Cross Church of Christ in Mineral, Virginia. It was there that Marian was baptized in Jesus name and received the holy ghost. She served as a choir member and as a member of the Pastor's Aid committee. Marian also served on the food committee where she was well known for her cakes and hot rolls among many other dishes. She enjoyed fellowshipping at Temple of Deliverance, HCG, and True Deliverance Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. During her declining health as she became a resident of the nursing home facility, she attended the Temple of Deliverance, HCG nursing home ministry.
Marian absolutely adored her children, and she loved them with all her heart. She took great pride and joy in her family and treasured every minute spent with them. She would often share stories about her children with her visitors, residents, and staff of the nursing home facility. In her spare time, she enjoyed drawing, coloring, word searches and assembling puzzles. Marian was very passionate about floral gardening and crocheting in which she created beautiful blankets that she gifted to family and friends. While in the nursing home she enjoyed writing letters to loved ones.
Marian was a woman of strong faith and loved the Lord. Even in her last days, she would share with her medical team that she was putting her trust in the Lord for her healing. On the morning of February 9, 2025, Marian answered the Lord's call and peacefully departed this life. Though she may be gone, her stories, lessons, and love will live on forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Minister James Green; grandsons, Dwayne Green, and Charles Johnson; siblings, Fred Moss, Doris Suber, and Stanley Moss, Sr.
Marian leaves a legacy of love, and countless cherished memories to her daughter-in-love, Olivia King; children, Sharon Green (Robinson), LaVerne Samuels, Tyrone Green (NeThomasina, "Nene"), and Wayne Green (Joyce); a devoted grandson, Anthony Robinson; grandchildren, Chrystal Hall (Courtney), Martina Rhodes (Tyree), Brandon Green, Antwan Williams, Alysa Green, LaWarren Johnson, and Lakeshia Johnson; ten great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Moss, Ruth Minor, and Rosa Green; a dedicated nephew, Reginald Moss; a special great niece, Jennifer Hunter; godson, Jeffery Sawyer, Sr.; adopted daughters, that she loved like her own, Sally White, and Rose Young; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
