Lois Virginia Edwards Ross , 89, was born in Stafford, Virginia on September 19, 1932. She departed this life on Monday, February 7, 2022, at her home in Fredericksburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late Charles S. Edwards and Annie M. Edwards.

Lois gave her life to Christ at a very early age and was baptized at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Brooke, Virginia. In 1952 Lois graduated from Walker-Grant High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Lois was joined in holy matrimony to the late Phillip Lloyd Ross, Jr., on April 5th, Easter Sunday in 1953. From this union eight children were born, Jacqueline (Thomas) Victory of Richmond, Virginia; Bernard Ross of Bowling Green, Virginia; Anthony (Kimmie) Ross of Riverdale Georgia; Pamela Ross of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Janice (Marquis) Sampson of Petersburg, Virginia; Phillip Ross of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Paula (Patrick) Williams of Woodford, Virginia; Annette (Robert) Parker also of Woodford, Virginia.

Lois was preceded in death by one brother Charles "Mickey" Edwards, one sister Margaret Ann Frye, four brothers-in-law Milton Frye Jr., Alton Ross, Joseph Ross, and Carlton Ross, two sisters-in-law, Marie Edwards and Bernice Edwards.

Lois is survived by three brothers, Richard L. Edwards, Robert V. Edwards, and Nathaniel C. Edwards, 8 children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandsons.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour before the funeral service. A funeral service will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Mt. Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Stafford, VA.
