Lillian
Bell
d. Aug 17, 2026
Lillian Naimah (Pitchford) Bell was born on April 11, 1976, to Juanita and Robert Pitchford in New York City. Within her first year of life, she and her family relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she was raised and began building the life and relationships that meant so much to her.
During her school years, Lillian was active in Girl Scouts and cheerleading. After graduating from James Monroe High School, she continued her education by taking classes at Germanna Community College. She had a heart for helping others, a value she shared with her mother. Together, they traveled to New Orleans and other cities to participate in disaster relief efforts, offering their time and compassion to people in need. In addition, she joined her family as a member of Team Run, Walk, Crawl to raise money for the Lupus Foundation of America.
Lilly's greatest legacy cannot be measured by accomplishments, titles, or awards. It lives in the love she gave and the people she cared for. Her daughter, Ivy, was at the center of her world, and being her mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She was also a loving and devoted aunt who treasured her nieces and nephews and the special place they held in her heart.
Lilly was a devoted daughter as well. She lovingly cared for her father during the final years of his life, giving him the same tenderness and devotion that she had shown throughout her life to those she loved. Caring for others was not simply something she did—it was a reflection of who she was.
Lilly's life was filled with love, family, sacrifice, laughter, and countless moments shared with the people who mattered most to her. Her greatest gift was the way she made the people she loved feel cared for. Though her life may have ended too soon, the love she gave will continue through everyone, fortunate enough to have known her.
Lilly is survived by her beloved daughter, Ivy Victoria Bell; her husband, James Bell; her siblings, Aliya Robinson, Malina Abbott, Robert Pitchford, Jr, and Juanita Pitchford; her nieces and nephews, Kaiyla, Robert III, Jeremy Jr., Raquel, Rakaiya, and Joy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
While there is comfort in knowing that Lillian is once again reunited with her parents, her absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juanita Pitchford Scholarship Fund at Shiloh Baptist Church Old Site in honor of her mother or the Lupus Foundation of America in her memory.
