Keith L. Jones, Sr. was born on January 11, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia.  He was God's precious gift to Samuel S. Jones, Jr. and Edna B. Jones. He returned to rest in God's loving arms on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, peacefully in his home in Fredericksburg, VA.

Being raised in a household with God-fearing parents, Keith was baptized at an early age at the Frist Baptist Church of South Richmond and later joined Saint Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond, VA where he sang in the male chorus.

Keith graduated in 1977 from Armstrong High School in Richmond.  Immediately upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Armed Services and was awarded the rank of Sergeant Major. He was fortunate to serve his country with honor and distinction retiring with an honorable discharge.

Upon retiring from the U.S. Army, he became a member of the Army Reserve and was awarded the rank of Sargent Major. He then returned to Richmond where he attained many accomplishments. He was raised in the Order of Grand Masons Prince Hall Lodge #44, Richmond, VA.

He was a small business owner and real estate investor.

Keith was the Equipment Repair Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation where he led, managed, and implemented emergency action plans for the agency. He then was recruited to serve as Senior Logistics & Transportation Manager. He was the Operations Superintendent for the Arlington County Department of Transportation leading a team of over 50 individuals to provide vehicle performance for the County's transportation fleet.

For his community service, Keith was a Training Instructor at Northern Virginia Community College for ten years.

Keith attended J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, John Tyler Community College with a degree in Engineering, and received an associate degree in Computer Technology from Kee Business College.

Keith has several certifications as follows:

• Certified Public Manager from George Washington University Council of Governments
• Certified Automotive and Truck Technician from the Virginia Apprenticeship Council
• Certified Safety Inspector – Commonwealth of Virginia Department of State Police
• Maintenance Supervisor/Equipment from North American Transportation Management Institute

He is preceded in death by his son, Keith L. Jones, Jr.

Family was important to Keith and the greatest love of his life was his wife, Portia Jones. She loved and cared for and created wonderful memories for Keith. She has been the rock in his life for many years. She and her mother Eula have been by his side until the end.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents Samuel S. Jones, Jr., and Edna Bullock Jones; brother, Michael (Darleen) Jones, and his sister, Rev. Sharon D. Jones. Keith was a loving father to his daughter, LaToya Maria Jones, son, Reginald Jones, and stepdaughters, Nakemia, Jasmine, Samantha, Devyn, and stepson, Jeraude.  He also leaves a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.

Keith never met a stranger. He leaves a strong legacy and great memories for family and friends.
