John Thomas "Sonny" Tyler , 78, of Spotsylvania, VA, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Evelyn; his children, Shelia (Kevin) Cook, Juliet (Gregory) Coleman, David (Pamela) Tyler, Johnnie (Jennifer) Tyler of Spotsylvania, VA, Gloria (Tim) Lee of Fredericksburg, VA , Simon Gatlin, of Culpeper, VA, and Charlotte (Wade) Aldridge, of Fayette, AL; 27 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; his siblings, Gerald Tyler, of Fredericksburg, VA and Alfreda (Kenney) Freeman, of Durham, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at Temple of Deliverance HCG, 5756 Zachary Taylor Hwy, Mineral, VA, 23117, on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Branch Fork Baptist Church Memorial Garden, 6930 Stubbs Bridge Road, Spotsylvania, VA, 22551.
