Jimmy R.W. Talley, Sr. of Spotsylvania County, VA, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife, Carrie, and his children and grandchildren. Born on May 18, 1953, he was the only son of the late James and Gussie Talley of Louisa. Jimmy worked at L.A. Clarke & Son in Spotsylvania County until the company closed, and later at Fairchild Trucking in Spotsylvania. He enjoyed fishing, working on his Jeep and van, spending time in the yard with family, and relaxing while watching the Discovery Channel.

He leaves to cherish his wife of 57 years, Carrie Talley; three children, Jamie Talley, Jimmy Talley Jr., and Julius Talley (Stephanie), all of Spotsylvania, VA; six grandchildren, Janiyah, Jaheim, Jayla, Kiahya, Shania, and Natalya; one great-granddaughter, Elaine. He is also survived by four sisters, Florence Burley of Spotsylvania, VA, Darlean Whiters of Spotsylvania, VA, Gloria Coleman of Maryland, and Kadell Cole (Vincent) of Charlottesville, VA; as well as four sisters-in-law, Betty Pierce, Bernice Fairchild Lawson, Laura Green, and Rosa Etta Fairchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Grifton Whiters, Bobbie Coleman, Melvin Burley, Riley Lewis, Russell Lewis, Paul Lewis, Sam Lewis, Joe Lewis, Ralph Pierce, Milton Brown, Pereline Smith and Evelyn Brown. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and announced to family and friends. The family sincerely appreciates your love, prayers, and support during this time.
