James Roger French was born to Warren and Bessie Ellis French on December 25, 1948, and peacefully transitioned on Friday, December 15, 2023.  Affectionately known as "Frenchie" and "Kingie", he loved helping people in any way that he could.

James joined Zion Hill Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, VA at an early age and later sang in the Men's Choir.  James was educated in the Spotsylvania County School System and graduated from John J. Wright High School.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Bessie French.

James served in the Army as an infantry soldier in Vietnam and was honorably discharged after completing his service.  Upon returning home, he was employed by building companies, Ryan Homes and USDC.  Later he worked at the Quantico Marine Corps Base as a boiler maintenance operator. After retiring from Quantico, he enjoyed visiting friends, going to car shows and helping others.

James leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 34 years, Lynette Box French; daughter Jasmine French (Shandell) Shelton; sons Duboise (Crystal) Parker and James D.
