CPL Jamarr Alphonzo Scott , 44, was born on October 22, 1978. Jamarr was affectionately known as "Jay" or "Jamellous". On May 5, 2023, he departed peacefully at his home in Chesapeake, Virginia. Jamarr served in the United States Marine Corps where he earned numerous medals and ribbons in recognition for his service. Jamarr's exemplary service as a Marine even earned him a Presidential Unit Citation from the United States Navy.

After serving two tours of duty, Jamarr returned to college at University of Phoenix where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration with a Concentration in Health Information Systems.

Jamarr was employed by ADP Human Resources and ASM Research, an enterprise entity serving federal organizations.

Jay is survived by his mother, Angela Taylor-Holloman, and her husband, Tony Holloman; his father, Alphonzo L. Scott, and stepmother, Juanita Scott.

He is already deeply missed by his seven siblings, immediate and extended family, medical team, colleagues, friends, his Devil Dogs and extensive Marine family.

Jamarr definitively lived to his life's calling. He experienced so much and left such a great impression on those who loved and knew him. To know Jamarr, is to love Jamarr. We ask that you allow him to now live through you and lead with kindness, never forgetting his message, "love conquers all".

A memorial service will be held at Marine Memorial Chapel, 3251 Embry Loop, Quantico, VA, 22134, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
