On October 11, 2023, our Heavenly Father called from labor to reward, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, Jacquelyn Smith.

Jacquelyn Satterfield Smith was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on November 28, 1937, to the late Joseph Allen and Easter Fitts Satterfield.  She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School . She also attended Norfolk State College (now University) and finished her undergraduate studies at Central State University in Wilberforce, OH. She went on to earn two Master's degrees from Plymouth State College and the College of New Rochelle, respectively. She was close to finishing her doctoral studies in Deafness from New York University.

Jackie, as she was affectionately known, worked as a Biology teacher in the New York City School System. She then moved to the New Rochelle Public  School System working in science and special education at New Rochelle High School before retiring as an administrator at Isaac E Young Middle School.

Jackie was most happy vacationing and anyone who knew her knows that she loved her casinos and cruises. We can't forget how much she loved to play solitaire.  Jackie loved her membership in the Moles, Incorporated very much and some of her happiest times were spent at convention with her Mole sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Frank Smith of New Rochelle, NY; her daughter, Lisa Walker of Fredericksburg, VA; her granddaughter, Lauren Walker of Fredericksburg, VA; one great grandson, Qua'lik Walker, of Fredericksburg, VA; one brother, Reginald Satterfield, of New York, NY; her cherished nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of other relatives, and many beloved friends.

A visitation will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, VA, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour before the funeral service. A funeral service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in New Rochelle, NY, on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 12:00 PM. The interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, NY.
