Irma Virginia Wright-Ford , daughter of the late Joseph C. Wright, Sr., and the late Irma Kay Wright, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Mary Washington Hospital with family and friends by her side.

Irma, affectionately known by friends as  "Irma" and known by aunts and uncles as "Virginia" was born on March 14, 1954, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC. She attended Spotsylvania County Schools and Caroline County Public Schools. Irma completed numerous college courses. In the early 1970's Irma began her career working for Best Products in Ashland, VA. Her ambitious attitude and willingness to move along in life landed her a job at Mary Washington Hospital. She worked within the Radiology Department at Mary Washington Hospital for several years. Again, Irma's determination and work ethic to succeed in life and further her career, eventually led to federal government employment as a Management Analyst with the Department of the Defense, U.S. Navy-Air Command, Office of Research and Development. In 2018, after 30 years of employment with the federal government Irma retired.

Irma accepted Jesus Christ our Lord at an early age. She was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, VA. In her later years, she became a faithful and devoted deaconess at the World Harvest Cathedral Church. She had a deep spiritual affection and fellowship for her church members. Irma was active in many ministries of the church and continued to embrace the salvation of Jesus Christ faithfully until he called her home.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour before the funeral service. A funeral service will be held at A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM.  Click here to join a live streaming of the funeral service.
