Gloria Ann Carter also known as "Gline" was born on January 24, 1939, in Fredericksburg, VA, to John and Pearline (Samuel) Carter.

Gline was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many was called home to be with God surrounded by family at the age of 83 on May 10, 2022. Gline committed her life early to the Lord, joining Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA. She received an education from the City of Fredericksburg Public School System. After many years in the manufacturing industry, she retired from North American Die Casting. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, creating crafts, reading, and planting tomatoes. Known for her traditions, she loved spreading holiday cheer with her delicious sweet potato pies and potato salad.

Gline, with her infectious smile and laugh, was the rock of the family. Gline was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, John Jr., Eleanor, Mary, and Roy.

She leaves her caring memories to be cherished by her loving children, June Willis (Edwin) of Spotsylvania, VA, Jerry Carter of Richmond, VA, Paula Carter of Durham, NC, Eldred Carter of Spotsylvania, VA, and Boyd Carter of Fredericksburg, VA; eight grandchildren, Edwin Willis, Jr., Nakia Wormley, Demetria Wormley, Heather Villaronga (Taino), Portius Willis (LaKeshia), Elross Wormley, Jr., Arnise Wormley, and Jervette Hill (Michael). She will also be remembered by her ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to include her caregivers, Helen Carter and Velvet Carter (Nathaniel).

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Mount Lawn Cemetery.
