Frank
Kelly
d. Oct 17, 2024
Sunrise: June 3, 1956 - Sunset: October 17, 2024
Frank McClure Kelly was born on June 3, 1956, to the late Zollar Mary McClure and the late James Robin Kelly Sr. in Philadelphia, PA.
On Thursday, October 17, 2024 Frank peacefully drifted into eternal rest with the song Precious Lord Take My Hand by Mahalia Jackson softly playing in the background, his loving and devoted wife Kathy Ruley-Kelly holding his hand and never leaving his side until the very end. Frank stepped out of the pain and suffering and joined Jesus Christ in eternity. Frank is now free and no longer limited to this earthly vessel. Throughout it all Frank's faith remained strong and never wavered.
Frank received his formal education through the Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia, PA. Frank served his country by enlisting in the Air Force, where he served as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist.
Frank was an honorable, private, and outstanding man of quiet faith. He exhibited the epitome of a man whose family was provided for and taken care of in every aspect of the word.
Frank and Kathy met in March of 1996 at The RLW Social Club in Philadelphia, PA. On July 1, 2006, Frank entered holy matrimony with Kathy Ruley, and they shared 28 wonderful years together.
Frank had a very long and extensive work history. He was multi talented and mastered whatever he put his mind to. He was a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber. He owned and operated an Auto Mechanic business, which he successfully maintained for 10 years. Lastly, for over 40 years he swore to serve and protect and did just that with integrity, dignity, and respect.
Frank was a member of the Masonic Lodge, which represents brotherly love, a helping hand, and open arms to its members. Uniting men of good character, regardless of religious beliefs, ethnicity or social backgrounds were all qualities that were important to Frank.
Frank loved music. He especially loved the oldies. One of his favorite songs was "For the Love of You" by The Isley Brothers.
Frank loved fashion and had an impeccable sense of style. He loved to dress for an evening out with his wife or a casual day with the family. Frank absolutely loved a good pair of shoes, and it was apparent based on the number of shoes he owned.
In his free time Frank enjoyed boating, fishing, and traveling with his wife Kathy. He loved cruises, which they did very often. Some other vacations they enjoyed together were visiting the Bahamas, Bermuda and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Frank's overall favorite place to vacation was Ocean City, Maryland with the entire family. Twice a year he would take off from work and make it a "family trip." Frank loved spending time with the family, especially his grandson Zayd who he loved, adored and affectionately called Curly Q. Frank's last words to his wife were "baby toy." Frank had been looking at motorcycles and submarines to purchase for Zayd's 5th birthday. Until the very end he was thinking of his precious grandson, with whom he shared unconditional love and an unbreakable bond.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Zollar Mary McClure and James Robin Kelly as well as his brother James Robin Kelly Jr. Frank is survived by and leaves to cherish his memory his loving and faithful wife Kathy Ruley-Kelly who honored him in life in how she cared for him throughout his illness; two devoted children Ashley Clark and Andrew Faulkner (Kayla); Grandson Zayd Harris; three sisters-in-law Christine Ruley, Faye Ruley and April Christian; two brothers-in-law Paul Ruley and Troy Ruley; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Special acknowledgement to Aeysha Andrews for being the reason Frank and I met back in March of 1996.
Frank would tell me I was "Heaven Sent", and I would tell him he was "God Sent." Together we were a match made in heaven; thank you for the great memories, Frank.
Frank, we love you, we miss you and for those of us who believe we will surely see you again. Job well done thou good and faithful servant. Now take your rest "King." You will forever be cherished, remembered, and celebrated.
Arrangements are being handled by A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home. The interment will be held privately.
