Frances
Coleman
d. Sep 10, 2025
Frances Pauline Coleman departed this life Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, Maryland. She was born in Spotsylvania County, Virginia on June 18, 1943, and was the fourth child to the late Aaron W. and Geneva (Lucy) Coleman. She attended public school in Spotsylvania County. At an early age she joined Beulah Baptist Church and was a faithful and active member. She would get up early Sunday mornings to catch the church van for Sunday school. Frances was a member of New Dawn choir and helped with the preschoolers at vacation bible school. She always did missionary work with her parents.
Frances was a woman of few words, but loved the Lord and loved everyone. If you were visiting her at Largo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and it was time for church, she would let you know. Her favorite color was red, and she loved red polish on her nails. In the summer she would look forward to Beulah Baptist Church Homecoming, which she called Tractor Meeting. This was when all the family would bring food and set it up outside to share with anyone who wanted some. She did not have any children, but her nieces and nephews were her kids.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Aaron and Lucy Coleman, two sisters, Beverly Hull, and Caroline Simms, two brother in-laws, Leon Hull, Sr., and Michael Simms, one sister in-law, Maude Coleman, one niece Sabrina Addison.
She leaves to cherish her memory brothers, Aaron (Bernard) Coleman of Mitchellville, Maryland, and David (Oneitha) Coleman of Spotsylvania, Virginia; five nieces; three nephews; eight great nieces; four great nephews, one great great niece; two great great nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held at Beulah Baptist Church, 5216 Arcadia Road, Woodford, VA 22580, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. The interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
