Obituary

Everleaner Jackson , was born to Willie and Maggie Williams on July 10, 1929, in Petersburg, Virginia. She transitioned peacefully at home in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Everleaner had a passion for sewing and taught herself how to sew, read patterns and make patterns. She worked for Virginia Linen for more than a decade, and Glenna Jean Manufacturing Company in Petersburg, Virginia where she retired as a seamstress in 1997. She spent most of her life in Petersburg and Chesterfield, Virginia, until her loving daughter, Loretta, convinced her to reside with her, in Manassas, VA in 1999. Fortunately, Everleaner, always loved the Lord, and found a new church family at First A.M.E. Church of Manassas, where her Pastor was the Reverend Ronald A. Boykin.

Although Everleaner faced several health challenges over the years, losing her sight, her mobility, and most of her hearing, she never wavered. She always kept her faith and sense of humor. She enjoyed family visits and loved to listen to God's word and good old-time gospel music. She looked forward to the holidays because she enjoyed family and good food. She especially loved her three favorites: cornbread, dressing and sweet potato pie.

Everleaner had a zest for life and a thirst for knowledge. She read voraciously and never stopped learning new things. For example, she learned to use the computer around age eighty and became an avid computer gamer. She was even chatting with people online. She will always be remembered for her grace, her unwavering kindness, her unfailing memory, her love of family, and her love for Jesus.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Jasper Jackson, her siblings, and three of her grandchildren.

She leaves behind her daughter, Maggie Washington and her partner, Clarence Taylor; her son, Willie and his wife, Priscilla Jackson; her daughter, Loretta Jackson; and her son, Barry and wife, Barbara Jackson; grandchildren, Jerry Heath, Maria Taylor, Angela Williams, Will Williams, Dionte Smith, Jermaine Strokes, LaMont Price, Constance Raines, Oliver Raines, Barry Jackson, Jr., Brittany Jackson, and Natasha White; nieces, nephews, over twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Fredericksburg, VA, at 1:00 PM.
