Evelyn Fair Lewis Brown , affectionately known as "Ellie", 82, of Spotsylvania, VA, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2026, surrounded by her excellent caregivers, Tony, Baby T, and the hospice team. Born on February 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late, Riley Lewis and Rosa Davis Lewis Fairchild.

She devoted much of her life to domestic work, serving many loyal families with care and dedication. She also worked at Snowden of Fredericksburg. She enjoyed playing the lottery and treasured visits or phone calls from Ardian. Evelyn will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the way she welcomed family into her home in times of need.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton E. Brown, Jr., affectionately known as Bob; her daughter, Teresa Brown; and her grandson, Christopher Brown. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister, Riley Lewis, Russell Lewis, Paul Lewis, Sam Lewis, Joe Lewis, and Pereline Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory five sisters, Betty Pierce, Bernice Fairchild Lawson, Carrie Talley, Laura Green, and Rosa Etta Fairchild; a special nephew, Tony Fairchild; a special great-nephew, Thomas "Baby T" Fairchild, who called her grandma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

In accordance with Evelyn's wishes, a memorial service will be held later and announced to family and friends. The family sincerely appreciates your love, prayers, and support during this time.
