Eva Virginia Walker passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The wife of the late Reverend Morris J. Walker, mother, of Morris Darnell Walker and the late Anthony Blair Walker, she was born on July 19, 1933.

In the middle1960's when African Americans were first allowed to work at the voting polls Eva stepped up to work at the Fredericksburg, Virginia voting polls. She continued to work at the polls through the latter 1960's and through the 1970's.

Eva served as First Lady of Piney Branch Baptist Church for the more than thirty years where her husband, Reverend Walker served as pastor. Members of Piney Branch showed their love for her, visited her regularly and provided support until her passing.

She leaves to cherish her memory her eldest son, Morris Darnell Walker; her daughter-in-law, Belinda Lizeth Walker; her grandchildren, Shanon Danielle Grady, Ashley Blaire Walker, and Amanda Walker Stephens; her great grandchildren, Marshall Jackson Grady and Joshua Paul Stephens; numerous cousins; and a host of other relatives.

A viewing will be held at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 16210 Short Cut Road, Doswell, VA 23047, on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery,
11109 Mt. Hope Church Road, Doswell, VA 23047.
