Ernestine "Teen" Christa Williams Garnette , 84, of Fredericksburg, VA, gained her wings on May 7, 2024.  She was born on September 16, 1939, and was the only child of the late, Rosa, and Milton Williams.

Attending John J. Wright High School, Ernestine graduated with the class of 1956. At an early age, she joined Mount Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Marshall Robinson. She remained a faithful member until her health begin to decline.

Teen was united in marriage to Jasper D. Garnette, Jr. in 1957; they were married for 54 years. Through that union, they had two children, Melissa Garnette Washington, and Kimberly Garnette Daniels. She retired from Giant Food as a Cashier with 23 years of service. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Celestia Chapter Thirty-Eight.

Teen was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper and beloved daughter, Melissa.

She leaves to cherish her memory, with love, her daughter, Kimberly R. Daniels; four grandchildren, Donte' Garnette (Nikki) whom she helped raise, Kamaron Washington (Robin), Thomas Daniels (Jessie), and Jasine W. Lizardi (Gilberto); great and great great-grandchildren; a godson, Barry Robinson and his wife, Brenda, and their daughter, Brittany; a goddaughter, Denise Woolfork and her husband, Joe, and their son, Jamal Lee; special friends, Gerri Porter, Shirley Hill, and Barbara T. Lewis; and a host of other relatives, and many friends.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour before the funeral service. A funeral service will be held at Mount Hope Baptist Church, 6823 Harrison Road, Fredericksburg, VA, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA, 22553.
