Ernest Russell Johnson affectionately known as "Skeeter", departed this life on December 19, 2021 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.

He was born to the late Ernest and Rosa Mae Johnson on August 8, 1954. Ernest gave his life to Christ at an early age. He continued to attend church and walk in faith, believing and trusting in Jesus Christ. He was educated in the Spotsylvania County School System. On December 14, 1985, he was joined in matrimony to Yolanda Cephas

Skeeter was a hard worker and a great provider. He worked at C.C. Beck Lumber Company for many years until he became disabled. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends or chatting on the phone with family and friends. It gave him much joy. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. In his early years he enjoyed playing baseball and was a star pitcher. To the relationship with his then special friend Verna Wills, he was blessed with a beautiful baby girl Tiffany Wills.

Ernest was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents Rosa and Austin Keys; two sisters, Betty Johnson and Faye Moore; one nephew, Darryl Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Yolanda Johnson; six children, Antione Cephas, Leshawn Cephas-Pollard, (Darrell) Tiffany Wilson (Edward Jr.) LaShawna Green (James), Shavonda Turner "Boodie" (Christopher, Sr.) and Yvonne Johnson-Scott; twelve grandchildren, Ajanae, Daishawn, Ariyonna, Diontre,' Ranada, Kaeron, Asia, Jaylen, Thomas, Jarren, Christopher, Jr., and Pae'ton; one great-granddaughter, Leiani; two brothers, Elder Thomas Johnson (Nancy) and Bobby Johnson (Delphine); two sisters, Lucy Mae Coles (Eugene) and Teresa Lewis (Kevin); two aunts, Viola Johnson and Elizabeth Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will be held at Mt. Lawn Cemetery in Woodford, VA.
