SFC (Ret) Elbert "Bud" W. Jones Jr. , 75, passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Born on May 23, 1947, in Washington, North Carolina, he was preceded in death by his father, Elbert W. Jones Sr., his mother Thelma V.P. Jones, and two siblings, Shirley Skinner and James Jones.

Elbert proudly served in the United States Army and retired after 20 years of service. Elbert had two life-long passions outside of family. The first was taking care of soldiers, which he fulfilled in the National Capital Region until his passing. The second was for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, win or lose. Watching his Eagles win the Super Bowl in 2018 brought him immense joy.

Elbert is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Jones; his son, Damian Jones; his daughters, Daliah Holmes, April Giggetts, and Samantha Jones; three grandchildren, Danielle Holmes, Janelle Holmes, and Olivia Giggetts; one great-grandson, Makai Branchcomb. Elbert is also
survived by four sisters, Lorraine Jones, Linda Green, Vanessa Skeeter, and Valarie Peterson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is deeply loved and already missed.

In lieu of flowers, Elbert Jones asked that donations be made in his name to the American Red Cross in order to help those less fortunate and in need of support. The public is welcome to attend his interment at Quantico National Cemetery on December 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM.
