Obituary

Earl R. Anderson, Jr. was born August 29, 1956, in Portsmouth, VA to Earl Russell Anderson Sr. and Florence Mamie Anderson. Earl was the second eldest of four children. His siblings are Patricia Anderson-Reaves-Bey (Larry), Quinton Anderson (Larena), who are still with us and Darrow Anderson which preceded him in death.

Earl was raised in Norfolk, VA where in attended Granby High School. He then went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy.  After being discharged from the Navy in 1982, he worked in Norfolk for a number of years as a school bus driver & City of Hampton bus driver. After moving to Fredericksburg, VA he settled down as a warehouse supervisor at General Products. He then started to work alongside his wife Carol on their small business venture distributing candy. After working non-stop he was finally able to fully retire in 2019.

Earl was a certified movie buff and loved classic video games from the 80's. He also enjoyed the occasional board game and was usually the life of the party. If earl was in attendance, you definitely knew it by sight and sound. Earl was all about action and loved to dress up as well.

Earl had a smile and laugh that could light up any room. He could tell a story that would make you die with laughter. You could find him smiling, watching a movie, eating fried chicken, and some popcorn all at the same time. Earl was a man that would stop what he was doing to help anyone out.

In the early 2000's Earl met the love of his life, Carol Carney. They fell madly in love and married on November 15th of 2014 where they remained until his untimely death.  Earl and Carol's love brought them closer by attending amusement parks, spending time with family out of state, playing pinball, attending church, and most notably picking on each other. Earl was loved by his church family at Praise Temple and was a fixture at the food pantry where he made his presence known.

One thing about Earl that was evident was his love for Carol and all of his children. Carol was the ying to his yang and they spent their later years side by side. Earl showed his protector and provider side when Carol needed daily care for a while. He made sure she had all that she needed. He did exactly what every husband should do in those moments.

Earl Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol A. Anderson; his children, Nakia Anderson (Antonio), and Sharmella Anderson; five grandchildren, Valayzia, Kayla, Aleshanee, Antonio Jr., and Sean Jr.; one great grandson, Kyren; one godson, Jeremih; several nieces, and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
