Delano McHenry Green, Sr. , transitioned peacefully on December 17, 2021 at his home in Spotsylvania, VA.

Delano joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age. He also attended various churches in the Harrisonburg, VA area.

Delano McHenry Green was born on July 3, 1965. He was raised by his mother, Audrey Green Daniel and stepfather, Theodore Daniel along with his father, Nilion Bates and stepmother, Barbara Ann Bates. Delano was richly blessed with a loving and devoted family.

Delano loved the Lord and he also enjoyed gospel music. He never met a stranger. He loved to joke, laugh, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Delano always joked that he and his mother were twins as they both shared an infectious smile.

Delano was preceded in death by his brother, Roderick Bates.

To cherish his memory he leaves, his son, Delano McHenry Green, Jr.; his siblings, Tracy (Melvonda), Duane (Sherry), Theo (Sharon), Eric (Barbara), Steven (Sharon), Michael and Natasha; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
