Craig Steven Johnson , 66, of Fredericksburg, VA, departed this life on June 12, 2026.

Craig Steven Johnson, affectionately known as Steve, was born August 28, 1959 to Velma and Bernard Johnson, Jr. in Fredericksburg, VA. He graduated from James Monroe High School (Class of 1977) and attended Mary Washington College.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Thomas Johnson; his parents-in-law Wesley Owens, Sr. and Doris (Medwyn) Weldon, and brother-in-law Wesley Owens, Jr.

He leaves behind his wife, Virginia O. Johnson; daughter, Camara T. Johnson; two brothers Michael and James (Tamyra) Johnson; sister-in-laws Karen (Michael) Holmes and Allison Owens; brother-in-law Victor (Tracy) Weldon; aunts Dianna Johnson, Marcia Robinson, Terry Edwards-Terry, Joyce Moody, Barbara Preston, and Barbara Jackson; uncles John and Thomas Ferguson; many cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA, 22408, on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at the Broadus Family Cemetery at Second New Hope Baptist Church, 3836 Summit Crossing Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408
