Corey Simms,
Jr.
d. Jul 4, 2026
Corey Lee Simms, Jr. , affectionately known as "Lil Corey," was born on October 22, 1994, to Rachel Casey and Corey Simms, Sr.
Corey spent his life surrounded by family and friends in Caroline County, Virginia, where he was raised and later graduated from Caroline County High School. He never met a stranger and had a gift for connecting with people. Whether through a conversation, a laugh, or simply his presence, Corey left a lasting impression on everyone he met. It often seemed as though he knew everyone, and everyone knew him.
Corey loved music and could often be found singing along to his favorite songs, especially those by Keyshia Cole and gospel artists. While he may not have always carried a tune, he sang with joy and passion that brought smiles to those around him. He also enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, and sharing stories about his latest adventures.
Known for being everywhere at once, Corey lived life to the fullest. No matter where he was, he always made it a point to check in with someone, making sure his loved ones knew what was going on in his life. His outgoing personality, caring heart, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Corey leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Rachel Casey (Eddie) of Ruther Glen, Virginia, and Corey Simms, Sr. (Terrie) of Caroline, VA; his grandparents, Roberta Simms of Caroline, VA, Rosemary Doss (Alvroy) of Ruther Glen, VA, and Randy Doss, Sr. of Davenport, FL; his siblings, Tiyona Sumpter, Parish Morris, DaVante Simms, Javon Shanks, and Nathaniel Simms.
He also leaves behind a very special support system, Jackie West and Chase Walker, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Though Corey is no longer with us in body, his laughter, love, and vibrant spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved him for years to come.
A visitation and viewing will be held at Agape Family Life Church, 16225 Dawn Boulevard, Hanover, VA, 23069, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. The interment will be held privately.
Family and friends are invited to come together to honor, celebrate, and remember Corey's life and the many memories he shared with those who loved him.
