Constant Disse,
Jr.
d. Nov 15, 2023
Constant Ponnet Disse, Jr. , 75, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, November 15, 2023, at his home in Spotsylvania, VA, surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was known to many as "Conny".
Conny was born on October 20, 1948, to Constant P. Disse, Sr., and Margaret Shea in Washington, DC. He grew up in a loving home in Arlington, VA, where he was educated in the Catholic school and was also an altar boy.
In June 1966, at the early age of 17, he eagerly volunteered to enlist in the United States Army. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. During his career with the Army, he received the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
After serving his country, Conny continued his career working alongside his brothers, as a carpenter. His most noted position was his employment with the Union, in Crystal City, VA, where he humbly was as a member of the Union Carpenters. He truly enjoyed his lifelong career as a carpenter and took great pride in his work.
He loved gardening, history, family bonfires, reading sci-fi and war stories. Conny was an avid Washington Redskins fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to oldies, and watching television. Conny was truly a jack of all trades.
Conny was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. Despite all that he endured over the last few years, he persevered, and smiled until the very end. Conny was a confidant, and protector. His presence will be truly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Constant P. Disse, Sr., and Margret Shea; his siblings, Elsie McGlothlin, and Juanita Murphy.
Conny leaves a loving legacy to his four children, Constant Ponnet Disse III, Renee Bartley (Matthew), Jessica Black (Harold), and Alicia Disse; sixteen grandchildren, Lyndi Rowe, Harold "Jay" Black III, Kaitlyn Disse, Jacqulynn Disse, Constant Disse IV, Jaylah Black, Landon Disse, Ava Bartley, Leah Bartley, Emma Bartley, Jada Black, Khloe Disse, Tyler Flaneary, Rylie Pease, Jaxon Pease, and Owen Pease; three brothers, Gregory Disse (Janice), Jerry Disse, and Kenny Disse; two sisters, Jean Bailey, and Dianne Zajdel; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
