Obituary

I tried very hard not to hear the call and I held on to Jesus until the very end. Born on August 21, 1943, in Spotsylvania, VA, Christine Virginia White departed this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2025. She was one of four children born to the late Henry and Christine Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Broadus "Dollbaby" White; daughter, Diedra A. White; and brothers Emanuel and Henry Coleman.

Christine was raised and educated in Spotsylvania, Va. She accepted the Lord at an early age and joined the Holy Church of God in Mineral, Va. Christine was everyone's "favorite" Aunt, Cousin, Confidant, and Friend. There was nothing she would not do for anyone; and if she could not do it herself, she would find someone that could! She was compassionate, loving, and resilient — a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, dedicated daughter, and dependable sister.
Although her earthly journey has ended, her spirit will live forever in the hearts and minds of those who loved her.

From an incredibly early age, Christine displayed an independent, mature nature about her. As the youngest of her siblings, she grew up quickly. When her mom fell ill, Christine was at her mother's bedside, nurturing and caring for her until the end. After her mother's passing, she briefly lived with her sister, Geraldine Richardson, where she helped raise her nephew and nieces. They often talk about how "when they acted up she would tear their behinds up!"

At 16, Christine left Virginia and relocated to Washington, DC, where she began working at Albert Dance Studio. She later went on to work at Saint Ann Children's Home taking care of newborn infants. Christine's final and most beloved job was working for the Prince George's County School Board as a school bus driver for over 50 years. This job was her passion, and boy did everyone love her! Teachers, students, and later the students' kids invited her to their graduations, marriages, housewarming parties, baby showers, and many other celebrations. She kept a dedicated book filled with memories from all the events she attended through the years.

Christine was a loving and devoted mother to her five children. She leaves to cherish her memory: Darnell White of Landover, MD; Christine Armstead (Vernon) of Clinton, MD; Tonja Outlaw (Dwain) of Stafford, VA; and Darrin White of Landover, MD. She also leaves to mourn her passing her beloved grandchildren: Vernessa Zoema (Demetrius) (Vernessa passed away on November 21, 2025; Demetrius passed away on November 23, 2025), Christina Armstead, JaNaee' Dunn (Tony), Vernon Armstead Jr., Cameron Outlaw, Brittanie Johnson (Jamal), Vernae' Armstead, and Cordaro Outlaw.

Christine is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Richardson; sisters-in-law Virginia Johnson (Puddin) and Saundra Fitzgearld (Alfonzo); her brothers-in-law Hugh Williams, George Carter, and John Lee Carter; as well as numerous great grand kids, special nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless lifelong friends.

For those of us who knew and loved her, we thank God for loaning her to us!
