Betty C. Carter peacefully departed this life on July 28, 2026, at the age of seventy-one, at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital. She was born on September 18, 1954, in Spotsylvania, VA, to the late Clarence Carter and Betty Lou Carter.

Betty started her career at North Anna Power Plant in Louisa, VA. She was also employed at Blue Bell where she worked producing denim jeans. Betty found joy in helping others and had an extensive career as a caregiver.

Betty lived a life of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. She was known for her warm generous spirit. Betty brought so much joy to everyone that knew her. She cherished time spent with family and will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and unwavering love. Her legacy lives on through those whose lives she touched.

Betty was preceded in death by her lifelong friend, Wilbur Moore; her son, Larry Carter; and sisters, Jearlean Carter, Linda Carter, Ruby Carter, and Barbara Carter.

Betty leaves a loving legacy to her daughters, Jonessa Carter, Christy Carter (Adam), and Salita Carter (Spencer); her grandchildren, whom she adored dearly, Delonte Johnson, Dejohn Coleman, Kendall Carter, Keana Carter, Tyra Carter, Cameron Carter, and Navaya Smith; several nieces, and nephews; and a host of other relatives.

Though Betty is no longer with us, her love, wisdom, and beautiful memories will remain in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. We will celebrate Betty's life and remember all the good times we shared with her.

A viewing will be held at First New Hope Baptist Church, 4508 Dickerson Road Bldg., Partlow, VA 22534, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at The Carter Family Cemetery, 12102 Belfonte Road, Bumpass, VA, 23024.
