Bernice (Long) Dart was born on October 29, 1940 in Quantico, Virginia and was the beloved daughter of the late Johnnie Long and Alcurtis (Miller) Johnson. Bernice departed this life on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Bernice dedicated her life to faith, family, and service. She was baptized at Star Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Triangle, Virginia, under the leadership of the late Rev. Domily Muse. As a devoted and active member, she fulfilled many roles with grace and dedication, including Mother of the Church, Deaconess Emeritus, Church Clerk, member of the Gospel Chorus, Golden Members Ministry, and the Aides to the Pastor. Her unwavering commitment to her church and her Lord was a beacon of inspiration to all who knew her.

After 23 years of exemplary service, Bernice retired from Prince William County Public Schools. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life, as she touched countless lives through her warm spirit, encouraging words, and enduring faith.

Bernice was blessed to share over 46 years of love and partnership with her late husband, Frank Dart Jr. Together, they built a life full of love, faith, and family. She leaves behind a legacy cherished by her sons, Otis White (Murble) and Vincent White; her daughters, Brigette White-Bailey (Darren) and April Dart-Stith (Danny); her brother, Robert Miller (Audrey); her sisters, Mary Ann Moragne and Pattie Cobb; 15 grandchildren (1 four legged fur grandbaby), 23 great-grandchildren (1 four legged fur great-grandbaby), two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, two godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

As a young Christian, Bernice accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, living each day in unwavering devotion. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 27, favorite song "If It Had Not Been for the Lord on My Side", and her favorite sayings, spoken with heartfelt conviction, included: "May heaven smile upon you," "If I had ten thousand tongues, I could not thank Him enough," "He has been mighty, mighty good to me," and "He has brought me from a mighty long way."

Bernice's life was a testament to love, faith, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. May her memory forever be a blessing.
