Anthony Gerard Washington was born February 24, 1958, in Fredericksburg, Virginia to the late Melvert Washington, Sr. and Loretta June (Truslow) Washington of Brooke, Virginia. He departed this life, February 23, 2025. Anthony passed away quietly after an extended illness, surrounded by a group of people who cared for him.

Anthony attended Stafford County Schools in Stafford, Virginia. Anthony gave his life to the Lord at an early age and joined Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Brooke, Virginia where his grandmother, Susie Truslow was a founding member.

Anthony loved the outdoors. He enjoyed exercising and running track. He was also a talented artist and often drew pictures of his family, especially his Uncle Harold Truslow. Anthony was a gentle soul who loved his family and had a thriving for the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Stephanie Roxanne Washington.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Deborah Washington Green (Bishop Richard Green), four brothers, Melvert Washington, Jr; Gregory Washington (Tesha); Douglas Washington, and Otis Washington (Eve), one aunt, Darlene Washington (Johnny), a special cousin, Veronica Washington Cooke, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A family meet and greet will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
