Annie
Jones
d. Dec 11, 2024
Annie Lee Wright Jones was born August 3, 1932 in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Kingzle Montogomery Wright and Lillian Elizabeth Wright. She transitioned peacefully in her sleep into heaven on the morning of Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at her residence.
Annie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Milford, Virginia. She received her education in the Caroline County School System.
Annie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Cecil Nathaniel Jones, Sr., of Spotsylvania, Virginia. God blessed this union with sixty-one years of marriage.
Annie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and planting flowers in her yard. One of her hobbies was collecting recipes. She also enjoyed cooking, canning and baking. Annie was known for her carrot cake and apple sauce cake, especially during the Christmas Season.
Annie's grandchildren brought her so much joy and they affectionately called her "Nana", and her oldest grandson Reece, would call her "my girl Nana".
Annie's kindness and generosity was shared with anyone who had the opportunity to meet her. Although Annie was a member of St. John Baptist Church, she attended Bethlehem Baptist Church with her husband and children. During the early years she was active in participating and helping to teach Vacation Bible School and volunteered with the culinary ministry.
Annie loved the Lord who was the head of her life. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her legacy will live forever.
Annie was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Cecil; and one grandson, Maurice "Reece" Daniel.
She leaves cherished memories to her children, Gwendolyn Daniel, Beverly Twyner both of Spotyslvania, Virginia, Cecil Jr. (Victoria) of Charlottesville, Virginia and Penny Longus of Manassas, Virginia; two sisters, Eloise Brandon of Ruther Glen, Virginia and Evelyn Thompson of Woodbridge, Virginia; two brothers, Michael Wright (Elaine), and Willie Wright (Ellen) both of Woodford, Virginia; sister-in-law, Frances Morgan of Spotsylvania, Virginia; three grandchildren, Danielle, Natalie and Chelsea; three great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Mount Lawn Cemetery.
