Alice
Miller
d. Jul 1, 2023
On July 1, 2023, at the age of 94, Alice Pearl Miller went to be with the Lord. Alice was born, in Spotsylvania, VA, on June 28, 1929, to the late Rosa, and Alfred "Allie" Fairchild. She was the youngest daughter of nine children born of their union, and the eleventh of the twelve children they raised together.
Alice received her education in the Spotsylvania County and Fredericksburg City Public school systems. At an early age Alice accepted Christ and was a member of Sylvannah Baptist Church, in Spotsylvania, VA. On April 27, 1948, Alice married Russell E. Miller, Sr. As husband and wife, they had four wonderful children and remained happily married for over 30 years before Russell's passing.
Alice was a homemaker, beloved friend, and caregiver. She was best known for her pristine skills, and devotion to caring for her family. Her most used phrase was "If I got it, you got it". Alice will be deeply missed, but dearly remembered. Her beautiful spirit will live on through her children, her family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and experiencing her friendship and love.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa, and Alfred Fairchild; her husband, Russell E. Miller, Sr.; her son, Russell E. Miller, Jr.; her five sisters, Sadie Coleman, Marie Williams, Hester Crump, Iva Wormley, and Mary Quarles; her six brothers, James Fairchild, Aaron Fairchild, Alfred "Dadie" Fairchild, Bernard "Tom" Fairchild, Layton Fairchild, Sr., and Roy "Big John" Fairchild; her grandson, Milo Johnson; her great-grandson, Darius French.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory, her four daughters and daughter in law, Thelma (Marvin"Fly") Johnson, Janet Ware, Joyce Thompson, Paulette Watson, and Meryne Miller all of Spotsylvania, VA; her son, Garry (Deborah) Johnson of Lanham, MD; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. The interment will be held at Sylvannah Baptist Church Cemetery.
