Obituary

"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God who gave it" (Ecclesiastes 12:7)

Alfred Ronald Taylor, Jr. known to everyone as "Junnie" began his journey here on earth on April 7, 1952, to the late Alfred and Rosa Lee Taylor. On August 1, 2022, God said he needed a dancing machine and Junnie was the chosen one.

Alfred joined Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, VA, at an early age. He loved the lord and did not mind singing his favorite song " Sign Me Up ". All you had to do was give him a microphone.

Alfred was a loving person to anyone that crossed his path. He would sing you a song, show you a few of his dance moves, clean your car, while laughing with the biggest smile on his face. He had several nicknames that he lived up to, but his favorite ones were, " Slick Taylor " for his smooth moves, and the one he LOVED the best " The Ice Man " which means he puts the fire out.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Taylor, his mother, Rosa Lee Taylor, and his sister, Anna Mae Kay.

Alfred leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Alfred Taylor; three sisters, Pauline Kay (Reverend Otis Kay), Margaret Pittman, and Brenda Coles (Richard Coles); one uncle, John Wilson; and a devoted friend, Peggy Wilson; as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family would like to express sincerest thanks and gratitude to each and every one for every act of love and kindness rendered during this time of sorrow. Your concern and support have strengthened us. May God richly bless each of you.

A viewing will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The interment will follow at Mt. Lawn Cemetery in Woodford, VA.
